How do I improve my windows experience index rating?

It says I have a 1.0 which is terrible. I have an HP Pavilion laptop, 32 bit AMD Athlon X2 with extra memory installed running Vista Home Premium with aero turned off. My games run okay but I think it could be faster. I have cleaned out unused programs and disabled a lot of stuff from running at start up. What else can I do?

Since it is a laptop, upgrading is not possible. I recommend that you buy a new computer, or install XP if Vista is the issue. If you do not want to buy XP you could try Ubuntu, which is a Linux variant.
