Games: The new hobby?
In recent years we have seen more people play as a hobby than anything else of All Ages and both sexes these players. It's almost like this new brand that has reduced dramatically in our history books and noted down the line for many to come. Some people play only on consoles. Things like the Magnavox Odyssey, when he first came out paved the way for others to follow this first generation of video game systems. We are now in the seventh generation of consoles out there with Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
The Game World is so vast that it is almost hard to put in a fragment of time. These consoles are just a small piece of this great world known as games. We also have RPG (Role Playing Games) such as Dungeons & Dragons play in allowing free-form live action or back to the consoles with the use of electronic gaming systems.
There are many variations of the table of the main games and Table Games (D & D again comes to mind for many) like any other game you can play in your spare time. One of the largest to come into the game has been the outbreak of MMORPG games that are still emerging around the world and has been since the early 90's. Games such as World of Warcraft, Warhammer, Ultima Online, Age of Conan and Final Fantasy are just some of the long list when it comes to popular MMORPG.
Most of the players all love a couple of key points about your choice of game: The story behind it, interaction with other players and the freedom of being in "another world".
How much of this in any fashion is only played in free time however players? Many people devote specific days per week / month just for your time game. Some adults work full time and in their free time when they can just play, families will have a game night or a weekend of games, friends have been part of the earth (for those who play PC games only).
It seems in this day and age, anyone can be a player. So it's a better player than another? Not necessarily. Any person may enjoy games. You could be a video player, a player at the table or mixing between the two if they enjoy. Some are casual and play only part of the time, some are hardcore and play as much as possible. You may be retro and enjoy collecting old games and play, a professional and maybe do this for a living but everyone starts as a newbie (noob to abbreviate.)
You have found a game and think they want to proceed with that? Does this game have a clan or a guild so you can play with others or go it alone? There are so many games to choose from why stop at just a couple? Get a collection going and swap a little. Remember, players are always happy to enjoy their time. Those who play too hard, too long and burned out are the end up thinking of it as a no work, hobby. Happy gaming!
