If the Taliban launched a direct war on the US Army using ships and tanks, who would win?

If the Taliban decided to unite in a ‘Holy” war against the USA, and they were to go right up to the soldiers and start shooting and dropping bombs and using cruise missiles,

who would win the USA or the Taliban? and how long would the active war last?

Interesting “What If” question.

The thing to realize is this, what type of equipment would the Taliban have and/or have access too.

Basically: AK-47′s and RPG’S

Armor: Possibly Leftover vintage Soviet T-55′s and T-72′s with a few BMP’s and PT-76′s which were decent in the early 70′s, but that is way back.

Ships: Not likely at all

Aircraft: Possible Soviet MiG but 1 or 2 planes would not do squat.

This is why they use unorthodox guerrilla tactics.
