How do you make a DOS game work on Vista?

I have downloaded a game that is really old – from the 80s. It uses DOS and I have Vista. Does anyone know how to make it work?

microsoft has been slowing dropping dos support for quite a while now.

However You Can get the dosbox which is a dos emulator that will work in vista. I have used it a few times when playing games made from Qbasic, which is a compiler used to make dos programs
