How I can format my Toshiba Satellite laptop without the Vista DVD?
The Windows already installed on it when I have it. And all that came with it was an update to Windows that requires the purchase of a new series. I have no Vista DVD, but I really need to reformat. Thank you.
How exactly they intend to install Windows after formatting? I have seen thousands of people who thought they needed to reformat your disks, and I've never seen a need to reformat the drive time. I have no idea why people think they need to do that, but it's like taking the engine of his car apart, having no idea how it goes back together.
Free tips for installing Windows Vista
A couple of weeks ago I published an article entitled "9 Tips To Keep Windows XP proper functioning."
After that I published a long (by necessity) on the article, "Upgrading to Microsoft Windows Vista Tips". Since I received several email requests for pointers to clean install Vista so I have compiled the talks and I am spreading to wider use. This will be much shorter and easier.
There are no secrets. All that is issued to cover the windows help files or scattered throughout the Microsoft website. Maybe it has developed a somewhat more useful here. At least it will keep you from having to search, to sift out the chaff, and to order the available data.
Remember the PC and Mac ads? You may want to see again: =
Do not get scared. Just know there are often changes important as a team we have and what Vista requires.
Another warning to run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor before doing anything else is in order. You Are here:
First, please understand that this information pertains to a clean install …. Not effective for an update!
If you need upgrade help please see my article on upgrading to Vista
Secondly, this article refers to editions VISTA (must find comparisons VERSION
• Windows Vista Home Basic
• Windows Vista Home Premium
• Windows Vista Ultimate
• Windows Vista Business
• Windows Vista Enterprise
• Desktop Enhancements
Warning:
In an installation clean existing data is removed – which includes documents, photographs, films, music, downloads, etc. This data includes personal data and settings. Please backup or make copies of any and all data you want to keep to another hard drive or computer before proceeding.
After installing the system Windows Vista, you must also reinstall all programs and restore all data to be moved in the previous step. AGAIN !!… Make sure that you back up your business and personal data before performing a clean installation.
To perform a clean installation of Windows Vista, use one of the methods following after (I can not say enough) to run the Upgrade Advisor, which is in: Most people do not read the fine print: There are 23 (count 23) and derogations warnings hid behind this little ditty (Some product features are only available in certain editions of Windows Vista and may hardware require advanced or additional) hid in the final 100 of Microsoft Reasons why you should upgrade to Vista.
