Using the stress for maximum performance

Did you know that stress is important to peak performance? It's true. Stress not enough and that we are bored and unmotivated. Also a lot of stress and can not work. The trick is finding the right balance to be active and productive without feeling overloaded.

What exactly is stress?
Stress is the body's response to a stressor. Stressors can be the weather, traffic, deadlines, finances, births, deaths, illness, boredom, sports, first dates, if it breaks, accidents, lack of sleep, qualifications, final family holiday – the list is endless. Stress is your reaction to that.

A good amount of stress results in the motivation to do best, the motivation to try to strong emotion, of a challenge, calling upon resources (such as courage, organization, self-confidence) did not know you had, etc. Too much effort results in irritability, anger, depression, rumination, destructive fantasies, lack of concentration and memory, insomnia and other adverse effects.

Why should you know about stress?
1) Can not help it. Stress comes from everywhere, every day.
2) Peak performance depends on learning to control it. It may not be able to control everything that happens to you (stress), but You Can control its effect on ti (stress).

How does stress peak performance?
When the brain perceives a problem, real or imagined, that prepares you for an emergency. This is known as the "fight or flight" response, which results in increased heart rate, increased breathing, increased muscle tension and increased blood pressure. Hands and feet are cold because the blood away from the extremities and the digestive systems of large muscles to fight or run. Glands secrete adrenal steroids (adrenaline, epinephrine, and norepinephrine), which inhibit digestion, reproduction, growth, tissue repair, and immune system responses and inflammatory diseases.

Evolution has not changed our wiring. Our bodies still react the same way to emergencies – except emergency now is not a saber-toothed tiger, is deadlines, traffic, grades, and so on.

If the problem or challenge is something you want (such like getting married, having a baby, get a promotion, starting Your Own business) this reaction (tension) will keep you motivated to do their best.

If the problem or challenge is perceived as unwanted or insurmountable (ie, reasonable time, bad boss, marital problems) this reaction (stress) can produce behaviors unhealthy as smoking increased, drink more, moodiness, etc.

The good news is that you can learn to control these reactions. Awareness is the key. Because each person responds differently to different types of stressors, stress is your reaction that makes the difference! The level of stress it takes for you peak performance and the sooner the stress takes over your body and mind?
