I will be building a "small" size mount sand-based space in my barn, but do not know what form it should be. I do a lot of lunging with my young horses and I could really use a good place So instead of an uneven field, but when it comes to riding should be oval or rectangular? Some people do not think riding in a circle is good, any suggestions?
To determine the minimum size you need, have someone hold the line of attack in the center of the ring / arena. Another person holde the other end of the line of attack, throw the maximum length, and walk a circle around the center person. Add a couple of feet to allow this the width of the horse and the minimum size. Think about how this way. . . would like to run in a circle all the time? One leg worked differently than the other. Make a large oval enough You Can do a figure 8. By making a figure eight, to maximize the length of the straight and working distances on both sides of horse, the same amount.
