My boyfriend has depression and is in a major downturn due to its case in court this week, what should I do to help

Basically has had depression for a while, he has mental health problems and also (severe back pain he crashed his motorcycle and breaking it for some time, problems the heart since birth – blood clotting, ADHD, etc, etc: S), but recently due to some charges to do with crashing a car (see my other question, lol) that has been in one end down. I do not know what to do, we have been dating for about 5 months and are very serious and most of the time very happy. In case of back off and let it deal with it, give sympathy or tough love and tell him to snap out of it? (At first I did not understand and think it might have alienated told him everything was an act of self-pity and was over-react, we need to grow up / people are in worse situations, etc) is also akward because we work together, everyone always asks me what's going on with him and most often know very little, it becomes quite embarrassing: (.

if I were you I want to talk to him about it … only if he wants though. i wouldnt give you sympathy but wouldnt say I say love lasts as long. depression itself is quite difficult to treat, but then when you add soemthing like a court case which is even worse. ask what's on your mind. and tell him everything will be fine. this is the time when it most needs you. if you talk to him, not only make you feel better, but to learn more about him at the same time. hope i helped.
