Strategy Weapons
explain the weapons and strategies that led to trench warfare?

the Machine gun was the main factor, No longer could armies line up and face each other, they would be mowed down.

So to protect themselved they built trenches and a stale mate started.

Each sought a way out and the tank was born. The Allies used the best use of them in one offensive late in the war. BUT it was the Germans that noted the potential of the tank and used it merdiceslly in WWII.

Howitzers also helped trench warfare as they were longer reached and more accurate than cannons were. Weapons had a faster firing rate and no Mans Land was a death zone.

The strategies were still old and it took some time before they adapted and finally with US entry the Allies over came with overwhelming force and supplies but the German army DID not lose! the Govt surrendered. Only in WWII did the Army lose.

I hope that helps.
