Should I take a job with lower pay because it falls more in keeping with the goals of my career?

Now I earn more money than I ever had in my life. I work for a large university. It has offered me another job in a more prestigious university, but the payment would be about 7000 U.S. dollars less per year than do now. Overall benefits are similar. Both offer tuition remission for me and my children. Both have good health benefits that cost almost the same. The differences are that Public transport for my current job, but the again I have to drive – pay for gas and parking. The job I am now has no room for advancement, and hours are more or less established. My work now is in the field of my profession (publishing), but not what I like to do the majority (in writing). The new job offering great flexibility. I could work from home, or travel times less load times. It is also a work written with tons of autonomy. I do my own agenda. There is a possibility of growth since the institute campus is growing. What do You Think?

'Suggest a new budget classification and then move to what appears to be an exciting new opportunity. Accept that this means some financial difficulties, but I have a hunch a period of six months of being established that will be gone. I remember the first time a mortgage, I thought of living as a beggar for decades, but I was the Life is not six months later "normal" again, albeit with a minor new definition of normal.
