I’m thinking about Linux instead of Vista, so can I do that?
I have vista and I don’t care for it. My question is, would i need to reformat the Vista Computer first and then install the linux software.
How is linux different than windows as far as looks or use?
Is it easy to learn?
Is linux an easy for prey for virus’s too?
And when I download the software is there an option to save to a disc?
My vista is a brand new machine., AMD athlon,64 processor,2.20 GHz,446 MB, 32-bit operating system. So will linux work on it. Which version is best. I know it isn’t a great computer but it i inherited it.
Linux is a great solution for anyone concerned with security, viruses, and spyware because for the most part linux is immune to such infections. Your hardware will determine which distro will be best for you, and since you have newer hardware I would look at Kubuntu.

If you want to dualboot it it’s very easy with linux as it will install the grub boot loader to manage multiple operating systems. If this will be a fresh install of linux that’s even easier. The install wizard for Kubuntu is very simple and fast, on that system it would take about 20 minutes. Then you’ll have to customize it to your liking. Here’s a great website for tutorials on linux.
