Portal Dawn
Posted on Friday, December 10th, 2010 at 9:49 pmIs ‘Tribute” a good title for this?
Beat the dog, it cowers,
Tear petals off of flowers…
The thorn’s first prick
Will make you sick-
At least for a couple of hours.
If You Don‘t come back tonight
From your rendevouz on the moon,
We will assume that the road less traveled
Is scattered with your bones amongst the ruins.
Parallel to this exisence,
Dementia and yes, hope?!
Right outside of that portal,
My body swings from a rope…
Ghostly shadows on the walls
Begin to materialize
I find myself becoming insubstantial,
Unable to appear, otherwise.
Lift the curtain and drop it back;
Sunlight givs me a panic attack.
Illuminated by the dawn
Are wishes and images
Fading and gone…
Beaten down, my spirit withers.
My mirror is smashed into slivers,
Ground into dust by his heavy feet;
Made into a potion to feed his conceit.
a sweetest summonning. none can refuse.
