how to increase sound volume when burning to dvd?

i am currently using x to dvd to burn my dvd’s. the problem is when the file is on the pc it volume is really good but once burnt to dvd it’s about half. i have the codec pack installed but am looking for something that would increase the volume a little while converting the file to dvd and then burn it. any ideas would help. thanks.
