Can I run the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game on Vista without SP1?

My computer is on Vista, but I haven’t upgraded to SP1 just yet. I’m still thinking whether I should just wait for SP2 or wait until Windows 7 is released. However, what I do know is that I wish to play Sims 3 and Wolverine soon. Do You Think I need to upgrade to SP1?
