Cardiff: The Place to Visit in 2010

The city of Cardiff has undergone extensive redevelopment over the past 15 years and now boasts some of the country’s best entertainment hot-spots and sports venues including, of course, the magnificent Millennium Stadium, which hosts concerts and a plethora of sporting events.

The list of events and entertainments on offer in Cardiff during 2010 is already looking incredibly impressive, and includes a stint in the city by the UK’s most high-profile comedian Peter Kay. The Cardiff International Arena (CIA) is one of the Welsh city’s best indoor venues and it is here that Mr Kay will be plying his trade for five nights during November.

However, there are plenty of other top-notch events slated to be staged during 2010 including X-Factor Live, TNA Wrestling and Holiday on Ice – Spirit. In addition, international recording stars JLS, Kelly Clarkson, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Lady Gaga will all be appearing, incredibly within the first two months of 2010. Many More artists complete the 2010 bill including the comeback of rock legends Bad Company.

The Welsh are incredibly passionate about their rugby and singing. Both will be featured at the magnificent Millennium Stadium in early 2010 when Wales host their home games for international rugby’s Six Nations competition. Scotland will be the visitors on 13 February, followed by France on 26 February and finally the Italians on 20 March. They are guaranteed to be fierce clashes, full of passion and national pride and the city will certainly be buzzing on those weekends, with hotels in Cardiff packed to the rafters with rugby enthusiasts.

Later in the year the grass will be ripped up and replaced with dirt as the Millennium Stadium is converted into a venue fit to host the FIM British Speedway Grand Prix, on Saturday 10 July. For those who love to do things in style, hospitality packages are available starting at around £180 per person, although regular stand tickets will only set you back around £30, depending upon seat location.

When it comes to shopping there is more than enough of a choice in Cardiff, the highlight of which is the newly opened St David’s shopping centre. Entirely enclosed this enormous mall features two huge department stores – Debenhams and John Lewis – and also contains more than 160 other stores, many of which are well-known high street names.

The quality of night life in the city of Cardiff is also very impressive, with the city boasting one of only four UK-based Hard Rock cafes, Wagamama, and many other restaurants and eating places. Cardiff pubs are legendary in terms of their choice of ales and entertainment, and there is also a choice of three major cinemas in the city. Indeed, visitors to Cardiff have a lot of choice, whatever it is they are seeking!

Can you believe CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY is getting Lights?

Next year the Busch & Cup race at Chicagoland will be night races!!!!! I am so excided I live 10 minutes from there and it is soooo hot when they run the race!!!!!!!

It’s just Awesome there is nothing worse than parting at the track all weekend and have to go and sit in the 95 to 100 degrees in the hot sun, after going to 600 my first night race it will be just fabulous, and I just renewed my Track Pack yesterday and tickets don’t go on sale till February, I’m so excited, not only do I live 15 minutes from there, I think it will bring more events there. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
