Mac Strategy
MAC or PC = my requirments – please help me ?

Hi, i’m graphic designer and i like choice of 3d and 2d and music generators for PC, and i love RPG games ,strategy etc. but i know that MAC is better for photoshop , and photoshop is my main program at work.
I got MAC at work, but i need to buy new computer for home.
I download a lot of movies using utorrent as well.
Help me decide.
Happy new Year.

Which brand and equipment should i get?
Dell, IBM , MAC or no name?
what kind of parameters for fast 3D max/ cinema4D, Maya small animations?
90% of the time i will be working with photoshop files ,about 600MB big – architecture visualization company.

I am a graphic designer also. I personally prefer MACs over PCs any day. I have had and am proficient in both and the reason i prefer the mac is because macs hardly ever freeze, the operating systems are a lot less buggy, and i have never had a problem with my hard drive screwing up among many other technical issues as such. I’ve only had maintenance performed on my mac once in 5 years of having it. Not to mention macs are WAY LESS prone to getting viruses. And macs can’t be beat for their graphic capabilities, like you said.

But I have an obvious bias because i only use my home computer for graphics programs, web design programs, music and video editing, and perusing the internet, so i don’t particularly need or want anything to do with PCs again.

However, I know many people prefer PCs over macs due to the lack of gaming ability and software compatibility, which is what you’re interested in (most animation programs are PC based). You Can get photoshop for PC, the software itself is fine, but the performance of the computer is what lowers the quality. you just have to decide if you’re willing to sacrifice quality for quantity of ability. So for what you want at home, i Think You‘d be better off going with a PC. I’ve had the best of luck of HPs in the past as far as PCs. Just make sure you get a very, Very Good virus protection package, as there are tons if viruses that get Into Your computer from using a PC.
