Drive-In Restaurants

Checkers, Cleves, Chuckanut , Sonic, McDonalds… A list can be added with more fast food restaurants. But these ones are remarkable for their drive-in opportunities. What is your favorite? What is America’s favorite drive-in brand for today?

A few words as an overview for the drive-in. A drive-through, or drive-in restaurant is a type of restaurant that serves food to the customers without any need for the latter to leave their cars. This type of restaurant was first introduced in the United States in the in the second half of the 20th century. As a rule, a common drive-in location consists of:

-          a speaker or simply a window, where customers announce their order;

-          a wireless headset system for the waiter to accept the order from a driver, as a rule;

-          a button or a pad under the concrete to activate the microphone and headset communication. Sometimes, they even install cameras.

-          several free-standing menu listings.

The ‘kit’ is pretty much the same at all restaurants across the country.

Checkers Drive-In. Checkers is a national restaurant chain with a 50′s style drive-in environment and a menu centered on hamburgers. Checkers operates approximately 800 locations in the United States. Checkers®/Rally’s®  claims to be the nation’s largest chain of double drive-thru restaurants. With two drive-thru lanes and a walk-up window the restaurants are also famous for their full-flavored, hand seasoned burgers, thick shakes and famous seasoned fries.

Sonic Drive-In. With more than 3,500 drive-ins from coast to coast, Sonic is the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants. More important, Sonic is the most highly differentiated quick-service (QSR) brand. Sonic is a national restaurant chain with a menu centered around hamburgers and served in a drive-in environment. Sonic operates the largest chain of drive-in restaurants in the United States. Other restaurants also offer drive-in service, but it is not their primary item unlike Sonic’s. This restaurant chain often has some special offers for their customers. Fir example, at the present time, if you drive in for a big SuperSONIC® Cheeseburger you will get a free medium order of crispy Tots. The prices are pretty decent at Sonic, of course, as with anything if you shop around You Can probably find something less expensive. A lunch may cost you up to $8 each day. That’s not going to break anyone by any means. The service is fast and friendly and the car hops come around and ask if you would like any additional condiments. A few years ago they introduced a credit card payment system right from the ordering point.

Mel’s Drive-In. San Francisco is known for the culinary sophistication of its diners. But, recently, good old American food is coming back. Several new, upscale restaurants have turned to American-style food, featuring steaks, chops etc., instead of arugula and truffle oil, at fairly high prices. However, there are some good old-timers that have been serving American home-style food—the kind your mother made— for a long time, at low prices (you can eat well for under $10). What would you write on your paper as supporting details?

say i have a diagram…
MY TOPIC IS: Catered lunches for schools (ex. McDonalds, Sonic, Pizza Hut) and we have to oppose or support the topic.
I opposed it. I wanted to choose oppose even though i do supoort it but it would make a quick and easier paper. We also have to have 3 reasons why you oppose this. and i choose how it would effect the SCHOOL, MONEY, AND HEALTH
so the diagram is like this:

3 bubbles:

1 BUBBLE: MONEY
2 BUBBLE: SCHOOL
3 BUBBLE: HEALTH

NOW I NEED THREE SUPPORTING DETAILS AND I DON`T KNOW WHAT?

*this is showing my cousin that he can write a good paper

easy. money for starters it works out heaps dearer for you purchuse from maccs than to make it yourself.

then the school runs the rise of bad publicity for bad food and the risk of being sued cuz a child got fat. (this would link all 3 factors together

health easy kids get fat and cause major health problems.

you could also put that the school might loose students because the parents dont want their kids eating that junk do a few servays of parents with their ideas.
