Golf: Just for interest, exectly What is a "golf links?

I love watching golf, (i have a handicap – both hands left!) So you just watch. When I do not play, it's more fun for my friends! What exactly is a link to the courses? is just another name for a normal course, or what ?…..

"Links" Definition: Many golfers use "links" and "golf" interchangeably. However, "links" is actually a specific type of golf course. Because they were built on narrow strips of land, links courses often followed an "out and back" routing. The nine first emerged from the clubhouse, a lanyard hole after another, until you reach the ninth green, which was the point in the golf club farthest from home.
