Turbo kit that fits a 89 'Firebird 2.8 V6?
Where I can find a turbo kit that will fit my 89 'Firebird 2.8? Will bone stock engine to handle the stress (if so, how much boost?)? I know it's only a V6 and all, but this car is worth sentimental for me. I just want more power (if you have a better idea of a turbo, please let me know).
You Can build a turbo kit, but the 2.8 probably will not last long and end up pulling it and rebuild it anyway. A better idea, if you do not like the idea of a typical V8 exchange, is exchanged in a 3.8 V6 Turbo Buick Grand National. This engine was also in the '89 Turbo Trans-am and was rated at 250hp and 340 torque. Will be more expensive that the exchange of a V8, but will have a screamer of a bed, better gas mileage, and something different to pop the hood.
