To be poor in iron increase our risk a heart attack?
I had an exercise stress test done I assumed that because they want to know how myocadial perfusion scan one year. To be poor in iron subjected to extra stress on the heart, as the exercises? (I'm low in iron)
I have low iron too. when you have low iron levels, which have less hemoglobin and red blood cells can carry oxygen through the body, so it is more likely to tire easily than someone who does not have low iron. I have had all my life, but did not know until now and I have 23 years. I played sports and all, but I must admit I was never a good long distance runner. now I know why. is because I have chronic low iron. not so much, but it can affect you in extreme situations like that require very athletic endurance. Article the poster includes other cardiovascular event by the increase was interesting too. I do not know if a cause or effect. maybe people already had some type of heart disease and anemia was a result of that, not vice versa. who knows. but in general I I would not worry so much. just eat well.
Testosterone Part XI – Testosterone Deficiency and Heart Disease
I. Introduction
Testosterone and testosterone deficiency
Testosterone is a male hormone. Besides promoting libido it has other important functions as maintaining muscle mass, bone formation and regulation of heart muscle and cholesterol. It also helps improve the oxygen levels throughout the body and the control of glucose in the blood and strengthening the system immune. After 40 years of age, testosterone levels start to decrease, the levels of by prolactin of testosterone of men increases, stimulating the production of the enzyme 5-alpha causes the conversion of testosterone to DHT, testosterone gihydro thus leading to low testosterone levels.
Disease heart
Most heart diseases are caused by aging such as decreased testosterone levels, as well as others, such as pressure High blood pressure contributes to hardening of the arteries, high levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) accumulate in the arteries as a result of uncontrolled diet with high levels saturated fats and trans fats. All these are added to the formation of atherosclerotic arterial lesions and, finally, blocking or anything that serves to damage the finish interior of blood vessels and prevents the transport of oxygen and nutrition, the heart can be defined as a heart disease risk.
II. Diseases the heart caused by testosterone deficiency
The heart has many testosterone receptor sites that helps support the building of muscle heart and protein synthesis, as well as coronary artery dilation, and maintains healthy cholesterol. With age, testosterone levels decrease which weakens the heart muscle. One study shows that symptoms and EKG measurement improve when low testosterone increase.
III. The effects of heart disease caused by the testosterone deficiency
1. Low blood pressure rises. The of testosterone in men can cause levels higher estrogen levels of testosterone as a result of high blood pressure.
2. coronary artery elasticity testosterone diminishes.Since not only is responsible for maintaining protein synthesis in the heart muscle is also a promoter of coronary artery dilation. The fall testosterone levels as a result of the heart no longer maintaining the function of artery dilation and artery elasticity decreases.
3. The increase bad cholesterol, fibrinogen and heart triglycerides.Since weakens caused by low testosterone levels, the heart is no longer able to maintain its function like cholesterol, triglycerides and fibrinogen derived cholesterol accumulates in the arteries and high levels of fibrinogen and triglycerides in the blood.
4. Insulin resistance.
Low levels of testosterone causes malfunction of the receptor site in the resulting cells can not take in the particles food through points of the receivers.
5. Abdominal fat increases.
Fat cells create aromatase enzymes that contribute to the accumulation fat and low levels of testosterone, which allows the formation of abdominal fat that produces more aromatase enzyme resulting in the formation of more estrogen.
