Mothers should know that God loves

We, as daughters of God should know that Heavenly Father loves us. We know that He sees the good in us. Feeling His love encourages us to move on, assures us that we are His, and confirms that He cares for us even when we stumble and experience temporary setbacks. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 - General Relief Society] Meeting

Bonnie D. Parkin testifies: "I know that He loves us, sisters, like her Son, Jesus Christ. That love will never change – is constant. You Can trust her. We can trust her. We believe that the love of Christ will never fail us. Everything we do … should reflect the love of our Savior and the love of our Heavenly Father. This great love should be the source of our motivation to serve others. Should be both our point of origin and our destiny! "

Do we frequently reject the Lord's love that He pours out on us in abundance much more than we are willing to receive? Do we think we have to be perfect to deserve her love? When we allow ourselves to feel "encircled about eternally in the arms of his love", we feel safe, and we note that we do not need to be immediately perfect. We must recognize that perfection is a process .. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 - General Relief Society] Meeting

I know that there may be some who have a difficult time imagining what that feels like love. Think of a mother with her newborn baby. The warmth, safety, caring, and peace of a mother's hug can help us understand what it feels like to be surrounded in the arms of his love. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 - General Meeting Relief Society]

An adult sister of the Relief Society wrote: "Only in the love of my mother I approach the understanding of the magnitude and the power of love the Savior. "

Mothers, can you see what is essential in the teaching of this truth to their children? As you surround your children with their love, they are given glimpses of his love. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 - Annual General Relief Society]

President Gorden B. Hinckley exhorts us to "love the Lord [our] God and love His Son, and always be grateful for your love for us. Whenever other love fades, there will be shining, transcendent, eternal love God for each one of us and the love of her Son, who gave his life for us.

A mother knows her relationship with God help your children to know and be surrounded by love. I was touched by the comments to share a daughter at the funeral of his mother 100 years: "When I was a teenager trying to plan my class schedule, I would go to the kitchen where the mother was ironing. I would like to offer options for my studies … She would listen to them all. We discuss the possibilities … and then she would say, 'OK, Cathy, have you prayed about it? That was a little embarrassing for me, and I doubt then add: "Should we pray for all?" She said simply, 'I do'. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 -] General Board of Relief Society

This mother listened. She shared their faith in the Lord to lead by example, shared his expectations for his daughter to return continually to the Lord. As we approach the Lord, we feel your love bring us closer. Mothers, teach your children to always include the Lord in their lives, and help them recognize their loving influence .. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 - Meeting General Relief Society]

The best proof of our Savior is His love for us atonement. His love overflows with grace, patience, patience, mercy and forgiveness. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 -] General Board of Relief Society

We must not allow pride or vanity, selfishness or agendas personal to move within our reach to others in love. Very simple and deeply, we must first allow ourselves surrounded by God's love. We do this covers atonement Eternal Savior. Then we can expand that circle to include our family and everyone else. This circle is indeed heaven. [Bonnie D. Parkin, September 23, 2006 -] General Board of Relief Society

Can you really be agnostic about the existence of specific gods or religious stories?

No agnostic really think Zeus could exist? O Lord / Allah could exist? Or that the Bible stories could be true? I can understand is agnostic about the general idea of God / gods, but to be agnostic about the specific histories ridiculous.

Odysseus is a difficult subject: there are some deep spiritual truths the Odyssey that are valuable if the story is literally true or not. Sometimes I wonder how Homer could have known that things unless he was in contact with some more wisdom beyond ordinary human consciousness of his time. I have the same feeling when I'm in the presence of Cymbeline and Measure for Measure. …. But major religious books are nonsense so obvious that there would be nothing of value in them, even if true.
