Is there a browser game based on Empire?
There was a very addictive strategy/wargame released around 1987 called Empire, by Interstel. It was written by Gary Grigsby for Interstel, more info here:

I was thinking a modified version of this would make a good multi-player browser game, is there one? If not then I am considering writing it myself, but I don’t want to if one already exists.
Of course if I did write it I would make it different enough to avoid copyright issues.

The nearest thing I’ve seen is Inselkampf, but it’s quite different really.
