How many Kingdom Hearts games are there and when were they released?

There seem to be a lot of different Video Games with the name Kingdom Hearts on them. I really want to try the games, but I can’t seem to find a list of all the games and the order they were released. Can someone help me?

There was Kingdom Hearts, the first of the series. It came out for PS2 and it’s now a Greatest Hit and a little sucker to find new in local stores. It focused around Sora, Riku, and Kairi. The main game play focused the heart of all worlds and the man who searched for it and became corrupted. Then Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was released for the Gameboy. This game focuses on Sora, and then, if you beat it, You Can play as Riku. It focuses around Castle Oblivion; a magical castle that forces you to loose your memories more the higher you go up. Then Kingdom Hearts 2 was released for the PS2. The final installment focused on Roxas (Sora’s other half) Sora, Riku, and Kairi. This game was based around the nobodies.
If you become a diehard fan, then the Final Mix games are for you! They’re the same game, except it’s essentially the japanesse version with english cutscenes. They include more minigames, more battles, and generally more stuff to do.
The series is phenomenal, and it’s MORE than worth playing.
