Frontlines: Fuel of War

FFOW is in the not to distance future with two rival factions (US / EU – Russia / China) fighting for depletion of energy reserves. This 1.2.0 review is based solely on the way and the multiplayer experience, originally created for http://SheerGamer.com

One of the first things you notice when joining a server is action-packed atmosphere. Whether the sound of a screeching jet, anti-aircraft missiles exploding in the distance or a cluster bomb whip a group of tanks, there is something that really gives you that war feel. Best of all there are very sound bites little attempt to imitate this, all real players.

Before jumping into the middle of everything that you select your role and load out, it can be a combination of any of the four for each. Each combination has its special role to play mainly determined by the map that is currently in maps based on larger vehicles as Solar Farm, have a high use of technical emphasis, and leading anti-vehicle load. Small maps with light vehicles is where the use of different configurations can really shine, technicians drone, while almost useless in a larger map, play a valuable role in maps as a people.

Action is never far away.

The game revolves around the capture of negotiating points of the current line, easily shown both on screen and the mini map. I really enjoyed the idea of a first line extending from the battlefield everything but really does nothing to give then hoping for something more. The game without this line would be identical in every aspect of the game. It would have been interesting to see some benefits or sanctions based on its position the Front Line.

When you get into a battle that has evenly-balanced teams can be very satisfying to catch the next point. I say manage because a good portion of my games have been one side ending in less than 10 minutes. Not sure if there was an improvement in the latest patch, but it seems to happen less as statistics are registered.

Overall, the graphics are great, the explosions and effects of near death have done very well. This combined with the sound mentioned before you really get into the game quickly. The game is the average has been done so many times before. I would prefer that over this battlefield, but then again I always thought that the field lacked a lot too.

An unmanned aircraft remotely piloted spoting a member of the infantry enemy, the red triangle is visible to other players in the area.

I would have liked to see a better computer system at present are practically useless squads with the three basic commands that the leader has. Worst of all, what should really be watching what you would like to attack or defend, move slightly off and the clip of a hill and let your whole team to attack a point 200 feet in the wrong direction. Not that this matters because, although very rarely someone will try to work like a equipment. A map locating the naked eye over the location of team members, their state of entry and exit load / role and capacity to address would not have done much better. As a reward for the minor annoyances to join a team (which appears directly in the center of the screen, with your mouse input) is if you go a knitted cap with a fellow squad member close to getting extra points.

There are three planes, aircraft, and helicopters attack helicopter transport. The attack helicopter handles very well and will stick well. The aircraft is the way to fast for relatively small maps you spend 90% of their time walking around. Transport is terrible for the simple fact that the most likely to die of a horrible driver, You Are an anti-aircraft gun.

Easily killed out this soldier runs for cover.

Communication in the game is nonexistent, there is no voice communication and a small chat box full of updates battlefield in the top left, sometimes I feel like I was in single player mode. Why a game with the team and the squad based combat not implement a kind of voice in the game is amazing. This could almost be acceptable if the squad commands were conducted in a manner that was usable, or have been the late 90's. Besides this You Can not chat while dead, recurrence or between maps, it is the only time I really want to write something while emeresed in the game.

This can not be a true review without a brief mention of the many errors that actually had to know about the state prior to launch. Kaos marketing its first product, obviously had time, I can sympathyize with not being able to get some of these errors over time .. is unfortuante all companies were not as success as a snow storm and lived by the "is ready when you are ready" rule.

Perhaps some of the things I mentioned about the communications and team management were on the drawing board but fell out of time constraints. For my part, I'm waiting a few patches or a sequel that actually packs all minor annoyances.

Finally, I would say I love the game, that's the little things missing, which degrade the experience otherwise great. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes an action-packed FPS with vehicles online. I have yet to play a game of this kind I have enjoyed more than FFOW.

7 / 10

About the Author

Life long player of games, started doing reviews at http://www.sheergamer.com recently.

Are they actually persecuted Christians in the Middle East, or is it just propaganda to fuel the war in Iraq?

I was watching a program in Christian television, where they were basically attacks on Arabs / Muslims to persecute Christians in the Middle East. The groups were intended the Palestinians / Arabs / Muslims. They used graphic examples of violent persecution to illustrate his points, and make the most convincing arguments, the speaker was a Lebanese Christian woman. Is this true or are they just trying to create mass hysteria and hatred of the Palestinian Arabs / / Muslims? It is the government Bush behind this propaganda? Note that I am neither Christian nor Muslim.

The persecution of fact exist, although it is possible (likely even) that the specific program to which you refer may have made exaggerated claims. There are, of course, the persecution of religious minorities in many parts of the world, no religious group is immune, and no one is innocent. As regards specifically to Christians, no persecution in many Arab countries (the current climate is particularly unforgiving) but also in the Sudan (Darfur), India (where Hindu nationalists resent the evangelization), China, (where only officially sanctioned Christian groups, with leaders appointed by the PRC government are allowed) and elsewhere. These are not inventions of the Bush administration or its supporters Christian conservatives. In these circumstances above, it is true that the Christian Right in U.S. has taken these events as a means to energize the faithful. While the government not directly used religious arguments to justify the war in Iraq, stories of anti-Christian violence in Arab countries no doubt have boosted support for the president among religious conservatives. While the Bush administration is certainly guilty of telling lies to justify the decision to go to war and the decision to stay in it, this specific issue of oppression against Christians has not really been part of the mix. The government lies have focused more on the alleged presence of advanced and ongoing WMD programs and Saddam's supposed connection with the September 11 attacks. Both claims have been shown to be without merit, but it was too late.
