Tricks to Building Your Vocabulary
Everyone wants to impress their friends or their boss with their vocabulary but many don’t know how. There are lots of ways to boost your vocabulary and learning about new words besides reading the Dictionary from cover to cover while sitting on your patio set. Here is a list of some Fun Games and tips to building an expansive vocabulary.
WordMaster
This fun, simple yet addictive little game for the portable Nintendo DS handheld video gaming system is similar to a jumble Word Game you would find in your newspaper. The game gives you a set number of empty blocks and a vague hint and you have to guess what the word is. The game will tell you if you get the letter correct or if you get the letter correct and in the right space. With only so many tries it is fun and often challenging to guess the correct word in time.
You Can find crossword puzzles all around you—in the newspaper, in the magazines or at your local variety store. My suggestion is to buy a big book of crossword puzzles and dedicate yourself to finish one puzzle each week on the bus ride or just while lounging at home or wasting time. Crossword puzzles challenge and build your vocab while also teaching you about pop culture, history and the arts at the same time, which is a plus.
Merriam-Webster’s Vocabulary Builder
This popular m ass market paperback is great tool to helping to build your vocabulary. While some of the puzzles and quizzes can make you feel like You Are taking a school test, there are lots of great tips and aides to helping you to build your vocabulary and to retain it. Many books or tools teach the vocab but don’t give you the tools to remember it. This affordable and helpful book is a great gift for that special person looking to build their vocab by leaps and bounds.

Is Answers so addicting that people actually believe all of the “points-gaming” conspiracies?
I always felt Answers was a pleasant diversion like doing a Crossword Puzzle or something similar.
Am I really that wrong when it seems that only about 10% of the Questions caught My interest and the possible Answers that could be given.
During my accumuating of points, I seen and still see Questions that are so narrow in perspective, that I thought others wanted this similar diversion.
In the beginning it was not about points, but that seems to have dramatically changed.
I’m beginning to see the same thing. I do believe that it’s an incentive gone overboard, and it’s getting annoying with all the useless answers that are given now. Erg it’s irritating…
