How do you get Sim City 4 Deluxe to run on Windows Vista Basic.?

I bought a new Acer laptop and the laptop is great but the operating system sucks. It came with Windows Vista Home Basic and all the computer is telling me to do is upgrade. I’m thinking about upgrading it to XP. Anyway, I installed Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition onto my computer and the installation went well. Now, when I open up the game, it will start to load and the the screen goes black and then a blue error screen appears, and the computer performs a memory dump. Then the computer restarts and its fine. I tried to put it in compatibility mode for XP Service Pack 2 but that didn’t work either. Is there a patch that I can use to make the game work, or any other ideas, because i’m thinking about going back to XP.

Go to the maker of the Sim City games web site and try to download the corect version of the game for your WVB. If You Can not get it you may have to upgrade to WXP. A lot of the new games don’t run on anything less then XP these days.
