Dark Age of Camelot game, do I need Shrouded Isles to play it at all??
Okay,
5 years ago I used to play the game Dark Age of Camelot. Recently I have REALLY been thinking abou it, and wanted to start playing again. 5 years ago, I quit becuase…
*Ahem*
Somthing went wrong with our computer, and we had to take everything off the harddrive and do something defrag something or nother. My mom said to take off all of my games, including DAoC, so I did.
When the whole thing was over, and I went to reload the game, I realized there was a crack in the CD, and I couldn’t load it. I bought 2 more CD’s until one actually wasn’t broken, and when I finally got it, it said that I needed Shrouded Isles. I got 2 shrouded Isles CDs becuase the first one didn’t work, and the second one was also freezing our old computer.
So, I’m just wondering if they actually still have it as a requiremnt to have an expantion pack in the game…becuase if so, I’m not wasteing another 100 dollars to play the game.
Also, is it still 7 bucks a month?

Unless I’m totally mistaken Mythic has put just about everything online. My son and I downloaded DAoC with the Shrouded Isles expansion included. We had the disks, but our experience with those was much like yours. It’s a good thing we bought them out of a bargain bin at the music/video store.
Catacombs, yet another expansion pack is also now free online. We haven’t downloaded it yet so we cannot access all areas, but we have a lot left to explore since we haven’t been playing all that long.
Oh yeah, you’ll have to cough up $15 per month now.
