The most beautiful avenue in the world

The Champs Elysees could be described as a street or avenue, but it should be noted that this is not an ordinary way and is still known by some as "la plus belle avenue du monde" or the most beautiful avenue in the world. Because of its wide area, this avenue has also been the place for military parades. The Champs Elysees is also known as the place of the final stage of the famous cycling race, the Tour de France.

Looking back in history, it appears that the Champs Elysees area used to be fields until the early seventeenth century. In 1616, it was decided by Maria de Medici to enlarge the garden area of the Tuileries Palace, creating a path of trees. This was later expanded and is reported in the eighteenth century, the Champs Elysees had become a tree lined boulevard of fashion.

Although this area may be very busy and crowded during the day, many people recommended that the best time for a walk from the Champs Elysees is during the night. By nightfall, the city comes to life and illuminated monuments and strollers can enjoy watching the boulevard, with its famous and romantic often.
