Brave New World, Huxley Chpt 13 help?
Hi anyone can help me with this issue of Brave New World? Near the beginning of Chapter 13, we are told: "Twenty-two years, eight months and four days thereafter, a young manager Alfa-Plus in Mwanza-Mwanza was to die of trypanosomiasis, the first If more than half a century. "Why do You Think Huxley has included this passage? What shows on the brave new world?
Brave New World – Aldous Huxley There is no elaboration of why it is included. Chapter XIII: "Twenty-two years, eight months and four days" later, a young Alpha-Minus in Tanzania die of sleeping sickness – the first case in the fifties. http://www.shmoop.com/event/literature/aldous-huxley/brave-new-world/chapter-thirteen.html
